Lesson Five: Xiaomei the Terrible

Synopsis: A pervert customer got a bit too fresh with Xiaomei - so (naturally) she cut half his toe off. The boss wants her fired, but Pingguo stands up for her friend.

Weird Particles/Words Explained

(note: all these references, eg “3.1”, “3.2”, etc all appear in the movie clips. Eg 2._ appears is the the 2^nd movie clip, 3._ appears in the 3^rd movie clip, and so on.)

The FULL translation of these sentences can be found in the Dialogue Section (further below).

5.1不就是摸一把吗？摸一把 = bù jiùshì mō yī bǎ mǎ ？is the same as 摸一下。 Also 不是。。。吗？ Is a rhetorical question, a 反问句 = fǎnwèn jù.
5.3要不然就让小妹去给客人认个错 帮个忙 个 = yàoburán jiù ràng xiǎomèi qù gěi kèren rèn gè cuò bāng gè máng gè. 个 认错 = rèn gè cuò= admit that you was wrong， 帮忙 bāng máng = do a favour
5.4你知道人家说什么呢 = is used in questions that contain 哪儿， 什么， 怎么， 谁，
5.5林总 boss’s last name followed by his position, 总 could be short for 总经理 = general manager
5.6还总什么总 = still boss what boss. It’s like saying “you’re still calling me boss? But I’m not your boss (anymore)”.
